My miniature dachshund, Irma, started having seizures a few years ago. I initially saw her have one when she slipped going down the stairs. Other times it happens when she's under a lot of stress or very excited. It used to only happen maybe once or twice a year. Recently, it started happening more often, like once or twice a month. A few days ago I just happened to have the video camera handy when she seized. It looks kinda scary but she seems fine when she comes out of it.

Dec 5, 2008 - I have a mini poodle, and she's got secondary eplepsy, she starts out by moving her left front paw weird, then falls, she looks kind of like that, but shakes just a bit more, sometimes violent, never really kicking or "Swimming" motions like i've heard in other dogs, but the scary thing is they can last betweem 5 to 40 minutes, ended up in the animal hospital twice, we upped her meds and shes doing OKAY now, about 1 seizure a month now

Dec 5, 2008 - I wonder if you can give marijuana to a dog to stop or slow down the seizing. It helps people.
