Nov 22, 2008 - Does this mean I can get my foreskin back?
lordmetroid Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - You may not get your nerve endings back that once existed in your foreskin but you can get a foreskin by stretching your skin to lengthen it back and create the inner organ environment that the penis is suppose to have.

Nov 22, 2008 - I am looking forward to more vids, this one did not say anything about what you think child liberation should look like. As a father of a five year old I feel it is my responsibility to look out for him and keep him from harm and raise him into a freethinking, moral adult. Sometime I won't let him do what he wants because in my judgment as a father I think it would be detrimental to his well being... and he sometimes disagrees. But he is only five and I know more about the world than he does.

Nov 22, 2008 - I don't know if you've seen this already Aaron, but I thought that since you used to be a teacher, you might find this interesting:Can kids teach themselves:/watch?v=xRb7_ffl2D0

Nov 22, 2008 - Thanks for that. I had not seen it. Great video.

Nov 22, 2008 - I like to take the "free-range" approach. Keeping in mind that a foolish farmer would NEVER place a fence around his property. Instead, we follow the unschooling approach to homeschool. Have you ever heard of this? The child decides what they want to learn and when, I just provide instruction and materials.I suppose if a child had the right to buy drugs and alcohol it would be their right to chose, but if raised with a sound moral code, why would they WANT to buy drugs and alcohol?
aaron0883 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - I am a big advocate of unschooling.
aliveformyself Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - we call that montesouri here and it works well for many many children while others need total structure. however i so agree that chicken need free range all the time :>

Nov 22, 2008 - Hi Aaron, thx for the video. Have you ever seen a parent say to a 2 year old: 'Stop being so generous with your toys,' 'you need to STOP sharing your things so much', 'start being more possesive of your toys and things', 'START taking things away from others if you want them',?If you've never heard any parent say these things and only the opposite what does that suggest to you about very young children?
aaron0883 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - It says to me that these parents are good for not ordering their kids around. Good for them.
neothomist1275 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - When you say "children" does this include adults who like ballgames, cartoons and cops and robbers shows?
aaron0883 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - I like ball games and cartoons. Not so much with the cops and robbers shows ... unless you count Law and Order. Maybe I am a kid. Spongebob Rocks! Wooooooo

Nov 22, 2008 - Anyone who mentions Alice Miller or John Taylor Gatto...gets my vote.
tlkSmack1 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Well they would be technically ordering kids around since they are telling them to start being more selfish and posessive of what they own. But the point is that you never have seen this. A two year old sees something that appeals to his senses he just takes it, we all did at that age.But sometimes a parent must tell an introverted and shy child to be more assertive and stop letting other kids take advantage of him or her. I actually was that way as a kid.
Rosabeth06 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - I think that we can, and should, guide kids and help them out without being mean and bossy people. I will make a video that talks about this later in the series.
tlkSmack1 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Well can you give an example of the kind of punishment you'd use without being "mean and bossy." Everybody I know who wondered why adults were mean and bossy to them as children now that they have children of their own or have dealt with children as adults now know why children must fear authority. The idea of "timeouts" as an alternative to spanking is somewhat valid, but it doesn't go far enough. A friend of mine makes the kids stand in painful positions during the timout--that really works
BWF89 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - I think your taking this a little too far. Although children are not property they can't have the same rights as adults because they don't have the brain capacity (yet) to make adult decisions. Parents (or guardians) act as caretakers to the children to nurture them until their brains are developed enough to make their own decisions. If parents weren't allowed to make their kids eat yucky vegetables or go to school (most kids hate school) there would be some very negative effects of society.
aaron0883 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - if the limitation is brain capacity ... Who decides the line for this? How much is it? are 50 year olds with similar brain capacities as children also the property of someone else? I believe that parents are hypocrites for forcing their children to eat vegetables, and I encourage you to watch my video series on education. There would be nothing greater for our society than for children to stop going to school.
aaron0883 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - i think punishment is a horrible thing. Do you punish your girlfriend if she does something you don't like? You work things out with her and try to come to a mutual understanding. I find time-outs to just be enslavement. I encourage you to watch the rest of my series, maybe I can change your mind on your perception of children.
BWF89 Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - To "public" (government) school anyway.
madamsponge Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - I agree with you 100% So I liberated my 2 month old child yesterday, today I went back to the woods where I left him, and he was gone. So i'm sure he's doing well.
Shezmu Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - I second that. =P Seriously though, with the easy access to any type of file or information (good, bad, copyrighted or not) provided by the internet, I am starting to find the use of school altogether questionable. But that's another vid.
Shezmu Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - Actually, if my girlfriend was doing something that would get her locked up or something like that (like beating someone up or drinking anti-freeze), I would resort to "punishment". That's just me though. =9
subach Says:
Nov 22, 2008 - No, I had, and still have very little discipline, it's one of my biggest faults. I do have ADHD though, so anything that moves or makes noise distracts me. That is, of course 95% of what children do, move and make noise.
