Aug 17th 2008 was me and my darling paint horse, cookie's, first show with me. She was a great show horse with her prevous owner and now were forming a great team together. It was a small schooling show at a barn I used to ride at before I had Cookie, so I knew the place pretty well. We did great and had so much fun. I hope Cookie was happy to get back to showing. She was a bit more preedy in the ring than in lessons so yes, my equitation sucked this time around becasue I didn't know to expect miss speedy pants. xD Ok heres how it went down...my first 4 class division was Walk/Trot 13 and up and there was a total of 3 people in my division, how fun. Heres the resultWalk/Trot Equitation - 3rd (those damn diagonals xD)Walk/Trot Pleasure - 1st (yay i got treats too)Walk/Trot hunter u/s - 2nd (not bad, and I didn't even know what this class was)Walk/Trot Cross rails - 2nd (I would of gotten first but cookie cantered at the end, you'll see in my vid) Oh and i got Reserve Champion in the division yay!Now just a random class I entered...Open Walk/Trot hunter u/s - 1st out of 5! (omg really? my dad said my face looked shocked and confused)Yes, I made stupid mistakes and some you may find in here, like my diagonals heels down and such, but i KNOW that I made those mistakes, i've seen these clips, i know what I did wrong, you don't need to tell me, i already know, it saves you the trouble of telling me, isn't that grand?!?!? Helpful hints are always accepted. We will be going back to this show in september so advice is great! So that was my first horse show yay!!!Enjoy!**I own my clips but not the song**

Nov 23, 2008 - Your horse is beautiful! I love her coloring! You are a GREAT rider! I know those diags. are confusing. How i remember is when you are trotting and look down it looks like you are posting to the inside leg. I know it sounds wiered but it works! I haven't picked up a wrong diag. since 3 years ago using this method! Again beautiful horse and beautiful riding!

Nov 23, 2008 - diagonals can be confusing...look down at ur horses outside shoulder, when his/her shoulder is forward...u should be up...when its back...u should be down...great riding!!

Nov 23, 2008 - Yeah, and it stinks that i only learned them about a year after I started riding. So i see that its natural for most but not for me. xD Yeah, i've been told in these smaller shows its usually ok to look. Thank you though. ^.^
