Dec 5, 2008 - In 1995, a Gettysburg Railroad steam engine blew up. This resulted in a new law. Every boiler must be re-certified from scratch. 1361 had a subtle flaw in the boiler design that wasn't found until it was in a million pieces. The firebox crown sheet was designed with nuts on the staybolts. Those were later left out, making it weaker and unable to certify under the new law. The project isn't doomed, but it may take awhile to sort out.
