Aug 14, 2008 - We actually have all the natural resources, renewable energy, and alternative fuels that we need right here. The oil and gas companies are in the business of finding the natural resources before another oil company does and then refining those natural resources and getting them to the consumer before the other guy does. That's what they do.
roonalwazlib Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - They have a high amount of revenue coming in b/c demand is high and their product is valuable. They also employ millions of people and have billions of dollars going out. Recovering natural resources miles below the surface of the earth ain't exactly cheap.
blind913 Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - no they don't have high revenue. I said they have the highest quarterly PROFITS. 11 billion dollars last quarter isn't revenue- that's PROFIT. as in money that goes TO THE SHAREHOLDERS and not finding alternative fuels. Gas companies have no interest in finding alternative fuels when business is this good. Obama didn't say this is the only thing we need to do, he said it helps. and damn right it does- you guys are morons.
roonalwazlib Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - Shareholders that more often than not are middle class Americans. According to dumbasses like you and Obama they should be hit with a windfall profits tax that only gets levied on American oil companies, further drives up prices at the pump, and increases our dependence on foreign oil. Oil and gas companies are the biggest investors out there into alternative fuels. Oil and gas companies have an interest in meeting the demands set for them by the consumers.
roonalwazlib Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - You said "income" not profits and those profits go back into the American economy and into government tax coffers. But you know what you're right. Let's just remain dependent on foreign oil while we wait for the technology to come online that will harness all that gloriou sunshine and wind at a cost effective level. While we're at let's just go ahead and take nuclear power off the table and lock away our vast coal reserves that might one day power our vehicles via coal to liquid technology.
blind913 Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - you really have no idea how the world works. Corporations are just so dandy and nice that they spend their profits trying to help out society! Those CEOs worth 20 billion... they care about you! they want to reduce our 'dependence on foreign oil'! Go to Europe sometime. Ask them how dependent they are on middle east oil. 2 hints- it's less than us, and it was their governments, not their corporations, that got them there.
peakarach Says:
Aug 15, 2008 - Wrong. Right now is about 800 thousand barrel a day.
peakarach Says:
Aug 15, 2008 - Wrong. His white mother was an atheist from kansas, usa. His father was a black muslim from Kenya,Africa. That's how Barack Hussein Obama got his muslim name.
peakarach Says:
Aug 15, 2008 - To be exact, each household in american would need at least $20 thousand worth of solar panel to run their whole house. It usless in night time, winter and cloudy day.
peakarach Says:
Aug 15, 2008 - Fuck you Shademurtagh! Hussein is a fucking muslim name and there are at least 1 billion musilim around the world "dumb ass".
peakarach Says:
Aug 15, 2008 - Wrong. His father was a black muslim from Kenya,Africa "JACKASS". His white mother was an atheist from Kansas,USA. Also his step father was an Asian muslim from Indosesian "JACKASS".
shademurtagh Says:
Aug 15, 2008 - and you could be one.our a fucking jackass. His mom wasn't an atheist his dad was a Muslim who converted to atheism. There nothing wrong with being Muslim. There is something wrong with being an idiot. There is something wrong with you.
peakarach Says:
Aug 16, 2008 - Do some fucking research "motherfucker" before u open your fucking bitch. Barack Hussein Obama is a fucking muslim name bitch.
BestPoliticalVideos Says:
Aug 18, 2008 - IDEA ... become a Community Organizer and get a group of like-minded Libs and go around your neighborhood with a tire gauge and an air-pump (preferably hand-pump) and check all your neighbors air tire pressures and make sure they are all at proper levels. Wear a sign that you are saving the U.S. fuel supply by the service you are doing - AND add a VOTE FOR UH...BAMA sign to your forehead!
deuces303 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - There is actually a relatively pollution-free method of converting coal into a colorless, odorless diesel fuel. Brian Schweitzer, the governor of Montana (who is also a Democrat), has been pushing hard for this. It is an environmentally-friendly way to ween America off of foreign oil and it also creates jobs domestically.
JohnDeBunkTest Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - The "clean coal" technology still results in massive amounts of CO2 being released. This is not really clean. Wind energy is the same cost per kWh and has no ongoing pollution ... it even looks better than a coal plant stack.I think the idea of upgrading infrastructure to enable wind energy is a great idea.
deuces303 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - According to the U.S. Dept. of Energy, by 2020, 100,000 MW of wind energy could be installed, providing around 6% of the electricity produced by the United States. A typical wind turbine generates around 1 MW... Although as a temporary solution to the energy crisis, wind power is not nearly efficient enough to power the country. I'm not necessarily an advocate for clean coal technology, but steps are being taken to eliminate CO2 emissions from this process.
JohnDeBunkTest Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - The DOE is a sham. Norway, Denmark, Germany, and Portugal did develop and install wind power in the past 10 years with no proven cheap technology to copy. Each has greater employment and lower energy prices as a result (also a cleaner environment as a bonus). The USA can produce and install over 80% of needed power capacity from wind in the next 10 years if non-technical restrictions* are removed. *( non-technical restrictions = political stupidity & corporate oil profit restrictions )
deuces303 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - Germany is the world's biggest utilizer of wind power with an installed capacity of nearly 23,000 MW which only accounts for 7% of the country's total power output. By 2010, they're estimating it will reach 30,000 MW, which is not even 10% of the country's power. They DO have greater employment because of the industry (about 64,000 jobs), however, with the amount of land required for the massive amount of turbines needed and the non-technical restrictions you mention,
deuces303 Says:
Aug 19, 2008 - a wind-powered America is not very realistic... unless they have a technological breakthrough in which a turbine can produce much more power. (Wishful thinking)
shademurtagh Says:
Aug 22, 2008 - LOL! You definitely represent most republicans. It's no wonder you represent the wrong side of the world.
peakarach Says:
Aug 23, 2008 - shademurtagh: Dumb ass, I am not a republican "Bitch".=============MCCAIN 08!HILLARY 12!
shademurtagh Says:
Aug 23, 2008 - Lol now your resorting to childish cuss words. It seems to me that most people against Obama are like you. Thats a good thing.
peakarach Says:
Aug 24, 2008 - Barack Hussein Obama on an energy solution is to have more tires gauge. Wow!=================MCCAIN/ROMNEY 08!HILLARY 12!
roonalwazlib Says:
Aug 14, 2008 - LMAO! Naive young voters freak me out too.
